Hello! Welcome to my blog.  Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Ruby RedHat, the official mascot of the Red Hat Society, a global playgroup for women.  Although I’m only 10” tall, I am no shy sweet pea, so sit pretty and will tell you everything you need to know about this phenomenon that is called The Red Hat Society!

The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet middle age with verve, humor and élan. The Society’s emphasis is on the positive aspects of life, stressing the importance of Friendship and Sisterhood, the value of play and a determination to find the good in life everywhere possible.

All women are welcome to join the Red Hat Society, no matter what age they claim! Queens (our local leaders) and Members over the age of 50 wear Red Hats with purple clothing, while Queens and Members under the age of 50 wear Pink Hats and lavender clothing until they “REDuate” (turn 50) into their “big girl colors.”

The thought-provoking link between the RHS and TEA - The real story:

Although the imbibing of tea will never completely go out of style in a civilized society, 20-years ago in the busy, hard-driven early days of the Society, women were, by fashion or persuasion not taking “time for tea.”  Neither were they wearing HATS.  But the stars aligned, the time was right and women united. The Red Hat Society created a spark.  Perhaps, it was the need of women to stop the madness of the everyday or simply a desire to dress up and defer to gentler times, or a combination of both, we may never know.  What is real, is that 20-years later, the Members of The Red Hat Society still encourage the joy of tea parties and intend to wear our Hats long into the future. Brilliant!

The Red Hat Society could be a perfect endeavor for you!  Jump in, explore the lore, join online by visiting our website: www.RedHatSociety.com. You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see how Hatters are cheering for fun in 2018.   #CheersTo20Years @RedHatSociety

RUBY REDHAT is the official mascot of the Red Hat Society.  In the year 2000, a little lady named Ruby appeared, out of nowhere, on the computer screen of EQM Sue Ellen's daughter, Andrea (aka Princess Daughter). Princess Daughter was working on the first Red Hat Society website and when Ruby got wind of it, she just volunteered her services as a representative (mascot?) for the entire membership. Ruby had recently finished compiling her Top Ten (plus one) Rules for Living and she had a feeling that both she and her rules would be able to help the Red Hat Society clarify its members and its purpose to the world. We are all thrilled to have her represent the little girl inside all of us, who is ready and willing to come out and play again in every woman who invites her to do so.
