NEWS: A Sweet Story: Milo’s Tea Celebrates National Iced Tea Day on June 10

Milo’s Tea Company, maker of the #1 selling tea item in the U.S., is celebrating National Iced Tea Day alongside nearly 160 million daily tea drinkers across the nation.

By the numbers, tea is the most consumed beverage in the world, besides water. Americans have strongly embraced ready-to-drink iced teas, with sales of $1.34 Billion, according to IRI data. Refrigerated tea is driving much of that growth, and Milo’s Iced Tea is the fastest growing refrigerated tea brand.

“National Iced Tea Day has been one of our favorite days of the year, for obvious reasons,” said Tricia Wallwork, Milo’s CEO. In celebration, Milo’s is giving away free gallons of tea on their social media sites, through local radio contests and other events around the country.

The Milo’s story is a snapshot of the American dream. In 1946, Milo Carlton returned home from World War II and married his sweetheart, Bea, the next week. The following year, they opened his namesake restaurant in Birmingham, Ala.

“My grandfather had a simple philosophy in mind: use high-quality, fresh ingredients; provide top-notch customer service; and never sacrifice taste,” said Wallwork, who is also Milo’s granddaughter. “It’s a vision that still guides us today as we source natural ingredients, fresh brew all of our teas and never use added colors or preservatives.”
