Q&A

Please tell us what sets your show apart from other similar shows in the same category in both USA and Canada? The Coffee & Tea Festival NYC is a consumer sampling show – the only one of its size and kind on the east coast.

What is it about your show that could help someone in the tea industry to be more successful (whether they are an importer, wholesaler, restaurant, hotel, retailer, serving or selling tea)?

..as an exhibitor – you can make sales, promote products, test new markets, get consumer feedback, network with other professionals in the industry.

..as an attendee – you can taste new products, find your new favorite coffee or tea, meet big names in the industry, buy new product.

What do you see new or trending in the beverage industry overall? At the Coffee & Tea Festival, we are seeing a rise in cold brew products and RTD products along with matcha.

What do you see new or trending in the food and beverage industry that directly or indirectly applies to the tea industry? With the rise of innovative flavor combinations and products that satisfy both sweet and salty while also being healthy and/or functional, we have send a rise in unique blends (i.e. bourbon black tea) and teas that contain caffeine in unique ways (i.e. added cascara).

What are the latest trends you have seen at your show over the past year? We have seen products with origin-specific focus to be of particular interest to attendees [i.e. Chinese tea, Japanese tea, tea from Sri Lanka (Ceylon tea), etc.]

What are anchor highlights of your show every year? For attendees, the highlight is the ability to try and buy products. For exhibitors, we typically have an impressive number of quality attendees.

What is new this year? . . And is it something offered this year only or expected to continue? New this year, we are offering VIP attendees a lounge to sit and relax. This will be available every year to come. We also have free WiFi available to attendees from Teavana and milk stations with creamer and milk from Califa Farms. These features may not be available every year.

What do you consider the best opportunity for networking at your show? (i.e. the show floor, after-hours events, awards, etc.) The show floor. We do not offer after-hours events or awards, etc.

How is your education organized? by tract? topic? industry niche? workshops? seminars? demos? on floor presentations?  Education is organized by seminars that take place during show floor hours and include 50/50 coffee and tea seminars, which are selected from proposals.

How is your education priced? a package price? per session? all free? In general… and provide link to further details.  The Coffee & Tea Festival NYC has “free festival seminars” (usually 3-4 per day) that are available to all attendees and all 45-minutes in length. There are also “Special Seminars” that attendees can attend in which they pay an additional participation fee for. These seminars are typically 1.5 hours long and more in-depth.
