By celebrating International Tea Day, we are raising awareness for this delicious and healthy beverage, and our hope is that more Canadians will sip one extra cup of tea per week… a pretty achievable goal we think!

About International Tea Day:

On November 19, 2019, the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 74/241 declaring May 21st International Tea Day. The importance of this day is to recognize tea producers around the world and raise attention for the second most consumed beverage around the world.

Tea production and processing is a main source of employment and income for millions of families in developing countries. “The Day will promote and foster collective actions to implement activities in favour of the sustainable production and consumption of tea and raise awareness of its importance in fighting hunger and poverty.” (United Nations, International Tea Day)
