Entries being accepted for 2019 Tea Cozy Competition

Knitting and tea have long complimented each other. One doesn't rush through a purl stitch and a cup of tea is meant to be sipped not gulped.

That is why The Larkin Tea Company of Martinsburg, WV is combining both the love of knitting and tea for its 2019 Tea Cozy Competition.

The annual event encourages knitters at any level to knit a cozy. The design does not have to be original, but it must be made by the contestant. It may be knitted, crocheted or felted.

"We want to showcase that in this digital age the tea cozy still matters," said Judy Larkin, owner of the Larkin Tea Company. "There's something timeless about a tea cozy and a nice cup of tea."

The winner will received over $500 in prizes and all entrants will receive a complimentary package of The Larkin Tea Company's tea and a free one-year on-line subscription to The Tea House Times.
