New Baltimore food startup Nela announced they are open for business this weekend at Coffee Fest Baltimore 2018.
Nela is 100% natural and unprocessed whole cane sugar from Colombia. It is handcrafted by boiling and evaporating sugarcane juice, an artisanal technique that retains nutrients and results in incredible flavor.
The new company also published a short documentary on its website, nelanature.com, that explains how it grows and produces its signature product and the company’s mission and focus on sustainability.
“Although widely used in Latin America, we believe there are many American tea and coffee lovers looking for organic, minimally processed products to replace highly refined, processed foods in their diet,” said Nela chief executive officer and founder, Ravi Chhatani.
Nela is now offering a limited-time 300 gram mason jar for sale to consumers as well as larger sizes for wholesale buyers like coffee shops, restaurants, hotels and distilleries. The entire product line will be available on their website nelanature.com beginning April 1.
