Simpson & Vail, a century-old purveyor of premium teas, is delighted to unveil its latest Literary Tea offering: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Black Tea, a blend that conjures up the image of his famous character, Sherlock Holmes.

This tea was crafted with Doyle and Holmes in mind. While no written evidence of specific tea preferences exist, the blend was imagined by Simpson & Vail’s expert blenders to combine the smoky, aromatic flavors of Lapsang Souchong tea (which was favored in Doyle’s time, most notably by Winston Churchill) with some bourbon whiskey flavor (as a nod to Holmes’ penchant for imbibing), and rounded off with black tea from Ceylon with a little wild cherry (alluding to Holmes’ cherrywood pipe).

The blend has a smoky, fruity aroma and brews to a mahogany cup that has a cherry forward taste with a lingering smoky bourbon taste that’s perfect for the Fall and Winter seasons.
