Hey there! If you need assistance, please see our home page and menu to learn how to contact us.

To celebrate the cultural contributions of America’s Hispanic/Latinx communities to this country, The TeaBook, a Los Angeles company, is promoting its LaTEAnx/TÉspanic and AmanTÉs —The Lovers Organic Tea Line VariTEA Samplers.

Noah Bleich, founder of The TeaBook, crafted this aromatic and vibrant collections by reflecting on the rich cultures and diverse flavors of rose, honey, chocolate and chili pepper. With all his teas, Bleich also adds a dash of whimsical puns when naming the teas. The LaTEAnx/TÉspanic line features the colorful images of Hispanic artists Frida Kahlo (FriTÉ Kahlo), her husband Diego Rivera (TÉigo Rivera) and Salvador Dali (Salvador DalTÉ). Mexican illustrator Mirelle Ortega is the artist of the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera tea wrappers.

“We chose these three influential artists, whose work has transcended over the decades, because our product is all about celebrating art,” Bleich said. “We’ve created a gallery of art through our detailed artistic tea bags.”

Bleich highlights the love affair between Kahlo and Rivera in the AmanTÉs—The Lovers Organic Tea Line. The word AmanTÉs, is a pun of the Spanish word “amantes” which means lovers and also pointing out that the couple were tea lovers.

To educate consumers about these artists, he commissions local artists to draw images and place symbols. For example, on Rivera’s tea bag, there are murals depicting his ancestry and honoring the working people of Mexico. His respect and admiration for the working man is signified by a wrench in his breast pocket. Conversely, Kahlo’s tea bag presents her preference to express herself on canvases. Some of the subjects—a monkey and a watermelon—appear on the wrapper—and are the focus of some of her best known pieces “Self Portrait With Small Monkey” and her last work “Viva La Vida, Watermelons.”

Bleich said that during Hispanic Heritage Month, 10% of sales at http://www.theteabook.com of the LaTEAnX and AmanTÉs collections and the individual teas of FriTÉ, TÉiego and DalTÉ will be donated to the Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA).

Celebrating different cultures is important to Bleich as it opens doors to discover and learn from other ethnic groups.

“As a company, we educate our consumers about positive people from various different and under-representative communities and cultures on food packaging,” he said. “Culture, by definition, is something that is shared among a group of people. If we share culture, this is something that bonds people together.”
