Companies to combine efforts to promote and supply the Bitaco branded line of organic specialty tea from Colombia into the North American tea market

Companies will co-exhibit at several trade shows starting with this weeks Natural Products Expo West show in Anaheim, California

Companies to launch various marketing and social media campaigns using the #letsbitacoboutit and also sponsor a contest for a free trip to Colombia in December

COMMERCE, Calif., Mar. 6, 2019 -- International Tea Importers (ITI) announced today a collaborative marketing effort to promote, market, wholesale, and distribute a full line of specialty teas from Colombian supplier Agrícola Himalaya.  Agrícola began promoting organic specialty tea under its flagship brand Bitaco Tea in November 2016 and has been marketing the specialty tea throughout the world. Through this joint co-marketing agreement the companies plan to increase the number of Bitaco Tea offerings and energetically distribute the only specialty tea from the foothills of the Andes in Colombia, throughout North America’s tea market.

The Bitaco Specialty Teas from Colombia are certified USDA organic.  They are produced using strictly sustainable methods and benefit from rich soil and natural spring waters. Alongside its organic farming, Bitaco proudly fosters ethical human relations practices and supports education and health in its rural community.

ITI will import, wholesale, and distribute Bitaco’s vast lineup of Organic Black, Organic Green and Organic White Tea including various blends. Customers may also request customized blends that include ingredients such as fruits unique to the region.

Through the collaboration, the companies will be exhibiting at Trade Shows and Tea Festivals across North America throughout 2019 starting with the Natural Products Expo West (NPEW) show this week in California. ITI and Bitaco will be exhibiting March 6-8, in the Hot Products Pavillion, at the Anaheim Convention Center North Hall, Level 200, booth N2034.

ITI and Bitaco have also committed to promote the full lineup of teas at the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas in June 2019 and the Los Angeles Tea Festival on August 10-11, 2019 and later in the year in Boston, NY, Chicago and Seattle.  The full lineup of shows that the companies will be attending in the US, Canada and Mexico can be found on the website at www.teavendor.com/bitaco or www.bitacotea.com/ITI.

The companies will also launch a social media campaign to promote Bitaco Tea to businesses and directly to retail customers using #letsbitacoboutit.

Finally, the joint marketing efforts will also include the opportunity to win prizes at tea festivals and an all-expenses paid trip to Colombia in December 2019.  There will be separate contests for the trip to Colombia for businesses as well as for retail customers. Details for the contest will be announced later in March on both companies websites as well as through social media platforms.

In a statement, Andres Velasco, CEO of Agrícola Himalaya said, “Bitaco is pleased to enter into a long-term partnership with ITI to bring our unique and rare Colombian Specialty Tea into the US, Canada, and Mexico markets.  With ITI’s reputation and marketing prowess we are certain that our exceptional teas will be easier to order and will enjoy broad exposure to North America’s tea customers for years to come. We look forward to hosting the winners of the contest later this year and have the opportunity to showcase the innovative tea manufacturing process at Bitaco Tea Estate as well as the beauty and culture of Colombia.”

“ITI has a long history of introducing and promoting the world’s finest specialty tea into the North America Tea Market. We are particularly pleased to announce this marketing partnership with Bitaco, South America’s foremost producer of premium quality tea. Bitaco represents the level of quality which ITI has always been known for and together we shall achieve a hemispheric reach.  During my recent visit to the Bitaco Tea Estate, I had the opportunity to learn first hand about the supplier’s innovative approach to tea manufacturing. I was especially pleased to see their modern operations and best in class food safety procedures. We are thrilled to be able to bring this exquisite and high quality product to our customers,” said Bhavin Shah, CFO and Head of Strategy and Business Development at ITI.
