The Victorian Leisure Fair

Coming Summer 2010 to the Erie Canal Village in Rome, New York

For a six weekend run from July 31th-September 5th

With auditions, workshops and construction beginning late June.

 

Come take a step back in time and across the water, to Victorian England this summer! The reign of Queen Victoria was one of innovation, invention and art!

Come see stage productions, parades, and watch the elegant Lords and Ladies dance. Meet celebrities of the era, such as Lewis Carroll, and see a stage production of his famous novel, Alice and Wonderland.

Swap stories with Sherlock Holmes. Get knighted by the Queen! Shop with our artisans, and enjoy fine foods from all over the English Empire!

Take a ride on the Steam Train or the Canal Barge! All the excitement of Jolly Old England in nearby Rome at the Erie Canal Village!

This living history event will be focusing on the entirety of the Age of Industry and Innovation that was the Victorian Era, and all parts of Queen Victoria’s realm.
