March 4, 2010   6-8:30 pm

Meet director Scott Hoyt--free documentary screening!

117 South 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA

Please join us for a special screening of the acclaimed tea documentary, THE MEANING OF TEA, meet the film's director, Scott Chamberlin Hoyt, and sample complimentary teas from Tbar in Philadelphia. Tbar will also have their entire selection of delicious loose tea, specialty beverages and edible goodies for sale.

THE MEANING OF TEA is a lyrical film that travels through India, Japan, Taiwan, Morocco, England, France, Ireland, and even Tea, South Dakota exploring the many facets of tea--as a beverage, a means of relaxation, and a way of life. With compelling interviews, beautiful cinematography, and an original “tea-inspired” soundtrack, THE MEANING OF TEA offers a kaleidoscopic view of the vibrant and colorful world of tea.

The screening will begin at 7pm and will be followed by a Q&A session with the director.

This is the first time THE MEANING OF TEA will be screened in its entirety in Philadelphia. Don't miss it!

“I have watched this film with several audiences. Each time, viewers respond with audible enjoyment, laughter and amazement. The whole process of getting tea from the bush to the cup begins to make sense as you see the tea pickers in Darjeeling and the manufacture of tea in several tea growing regions. You become aware of the tea's incredible influence on history and world cultures. It is beautifully photographed..."
