Be That As It May
He sees her as she truly is,
Whatever that may be,
A goddess or a fool.

   Be That As It May

She buttons her shirts wrong,
Or worse yet, she puts them
On inside out and then she is
Still a button or two off.

She wears her shoes on the
Wrong feet and doesn’t notice.
Her hair sticks out oddly
And she doesn’t seem to mind.

However, she cleans up quite well,
And many people believe her to be
Beautifully elegant all of the time.

He sees her as she truly is,
Whatever that may be,
A goddess or a fool.

Yes, you’ve got it,
He loves her all the same,
If not all the more.

I've received several interpretations of this poem.  They are all quite valid.  But, the poem is above all, still a love story; it is about loving people as they are.  There are many types of loves we can share, from animals to friends to relatives and spouses.  Celebrate the loves of your life often.    skp
