Poetry: Why Can't it Be Love? - Guest Post by Susan Patterson

Monday, April 17th 2017 @ 9:26 AM

Why Can’t It Be Love?
Could it be that I am simply taken
By your charming ways?
I think about you when I rise in the
Morning and when I lay down at night.
. . . . .

Why Can’t It Be Love?

Could it be that I am simply taken
By your charming ways?

I think about you when I rise in the
Morning and when I lay down at night.
Some would say
I am enamored with you.

I fantasize and have visions
About us being together.
Others would say
I am infatuated with you.

My heart beats quickly
When we are about to meet.
My breath is short.
I count the days until
We will meet again.
Besotted, for sure.

There are the times when
I dream of us making love
For hours. Can it be
That I am obsessed with you?

Surely, it can’t be love.

I remember years and years ago, sitting across the table from someone I was infatuated with and thinking, why can't it be love.  Ah, the questions and confusions of young love.  Isn't it grand when love comes into our life?  Isn't it more grand when we appreciate it and when the love stays?   It can come to us in a variety of ways and times in our lives.  It is never far if we want it.  Here's to enjoying the loves in our lives with a very good cup of tea.   skp
