Time for a Virtual Party! by Ruby RedHat, Red Hat Society

Monday, March 2nd 2015 @ 11:19 AM

I have been spending quite a bit of time lately online.  I’ve been taking the time to chat it up on Facebook and am learning quite a few new ways to play.  After overhearing the Hatquarters team discussing at great length how to share the fun of RHS with women who have yet to become Members of RHS, I took it upon myself to host a virtual party! I thought if I could do my part to share the joy of being a part of RHS with other women and give them an opportunity to step into our world, then perhaps they would take the plunge and just get involved.

I am happy to report that my little ‘fun experiment’ worked!  I hosted over 1,300 women for a virtual Mardi Gras Party.  We threw imaginary beads, danced the Mardi Gras Mambo, enjoyed the flavors of the celebration.  It was ‘Simply Fun!’  I’m happy to report that we ate King Cake (or should I say Queen cake) all day long and because it was virtual, no one gained a pound!  How’s that for staying fit?!

Since everyone who joined in had such a good time, I have decided that we’ll host more virtual parties.

Here’s a schedule so you can be sure and join us:

  • March 9, 2015-  RHS Virtual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party: We'll be paying tribute to the 150th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland! It's an open forum and we hope that Members, friends and new women considering RHS will come in and play. I'm delighted to share that Gail Gastelu (Lady Gayle to her Red Hat friends), Publisher and Editor-In-Chief at The Tea House Times magazine will be joining us to share the latest tips and trends for hosting tea parties. Be sure and share this link on your Facebook page and get in on the "pre-chat" action.
  • September 24, 2015-  RHS Virtual Pirate Party:  Come and play with the ARR-H-S!!!  Yes, the Red Hat Society likes to play dress up and there are plenty of people who love Captain Jack Sparrow and other famous pirates.  Bring your booty bag and join us for a wave crashing adventure.  Keep watching the RHS Save The Date Page for the link to the party.
  • October 29, 2015-  RHS Virtual Monster Mash Party:  From Monster Adoption Ceremonies to Costume contests, this is one Halloween event you don’t want to miss.  Keep watching the RHS Save The Date page for the link to the party.

Want to play with RHS Members in person?  Come and join us at the 2015 International Convention, the Speedway Sparkle

Ready to become the newest Queen or Member of RHS?  Let this serve as our official invitation to you. There’s Only One, Join the Fun!

RUBY REDHAT is the official mascot of the Red Hat Society.  In the year 2000, a little lady named Ruby appeared, out of nowhere, on the computer screen of EQM Sue Ellen's daughter, Andrea (aka Princess Daughter). Princess Daughter was working on the first Red Hat Society website and when Ruby got wind of it, she just volunteered her services as a representative (mascot?) for the entire membership. Ruby had recently finished compiling her Top Ten (plus one) Rules for Living and she had a feeling that both she and her rules would be able to help the Red Hat Society clarify its members and its purpose to the world. We are all thrilled to have her represent the little girl inside all of us, who is ready and willing to come out and play again in every woman who invites her to do so.
