Zzz .. Sweet Dreams by Linda Villano

Sunday, September 27th 2015 @ 11:36 AM

In the fast-paced society of this fast-paced part of the world, many of us have trouble winding down at bedtime and often sleep doesn’t arrive as quickly as we’d like. Rather than turning to the local drug store chain or the aisles of the health food shops for a packaged pill or liquid sleep aid, try going au naturale. Many ingredients in commercial fixes include variations of any or all of the following botanicals. Fortunately, we in the tea industry have them at our finger-tips.

Just as a cuppa tea (Camellia sinensis) provides a great pick-me-up, a cuppa these botanicals will provide a natural wind-me-down. Prepare like any tisane: one teaspoon, or 2.5–3 g, per cup steeped in boiled water for about 5 minutes or to taste. Sip, Relax, Snooze.

Chamomile

Hops

Lavender

Lemon Balm

Passion Flower

Valerian

At SerendipiTea we make two relaxation blends using botanicals reputed for their relaxing effects:

Zzz ~ Chamomile & Lavender

The Big Sleep ~ Anise, Brahmi, Coconut Bits, Honeybush, Pomegranate Peel, Vanilla Bean

As with all consumables, please look for Certified Organic product.

Sweet Dreams!
