WELCOME BACK! HAPPY FALL!

Welcome back to “A Day in My Shoes”. Fall has arrived and my summer break from blogging has ended.  In the coming weeks you will hear about my time spent in the shoes of Linda Villano, co-founder and President of SerendipiTea, a NY based tea importer/manufacturer est. in 1995 specializing in premium tea and tisane and small batch blends.  I also need to get caught up in reporting a little time spent with James Norwood Pratt, our beloved tea industry author who needs no introduction.

The next few months are filled with a lot of tea related travel for me and some trade shows as well.  The upcoming World Tea East trade show will take place in Atlanta, Georgia Oct. 20-22 and the Coffee and Tea Festival (open to the public) Nov 2-3 will take place in Pennsylvania.

The most exciting news of all is that during the time I spent with Linda, I learned how to blend tea and actually created a very special blend to celebrate The Tea House Times 10 year anniversary.  Samplings will be made available at the shows I just mentioned and the tea will be available for purchase later in October at SerendipiTea.com    In an upcoming blog entry I will explain the entire process, why it is the way it is, how the name was chosen, and more.

We will learn more about running a tea business, sourcing tea, blending tea, packaging tea, manufacturing operations, shipping and more.

I will spend more time with tea rooms and have planned some additional tutorials with High SocieTea House in Wayne, NJ

All of these things will play out over the next few months; either weekly or 2-3 times per month depending on my travel commitments.  Each entry of “A Day in My Shoes” will be announced through our weekly/Monday email. If you are not receiving our emails, please sign up in the blue box on the right column of our home page at theteahousetimes.com

I promised to get back to blogging in the Fall, but I am keeping this short and sweet since I am now off to the North American Tea Conference with the Tea Association of USA to meet up with various tea boards, tea business owners, and celebrate with Joe Simrany at a formal dinner to be held in his honor.

I hope to see you at an upcoming event. Please email if you are near NJ and want to volunteer to host “A Day in My Shoes” (which is really a day in Your shoes!) or if you want to request a certain topic or area of the tea industry for me to explore further on your behalf.

Happy Fall, enjoy the cooler days ahead with a nice comforting cup of tea, and watch for more exciting adventures in the shoes of other great tea industry people.
