A Day in My Shoes – Dishwashing at High SocieTea House - Episode 6

Welcome to A Day in My Shoes – a blog and sometimes vlog as The Tea House Times publisher, Gail Gastelu, puts herself in another person’s shoes for the day – going behind the scenes in the tea industry!  If you are just joining us, go to the Archived entries in the left column to catch up - beginning with January 2013.  OR Click HERE for a complete listing/directory of entries and topics.

February, 2013 - Washing dishes at High SocieTea House in Wayne, NJ - Gail puts herself into George's shoes (before he shows up in the morning) before the tea room opens. While the kitchen staff is busy prepping food for afternoon tea, Gail is busy learning how to properly prepare all three sinks for washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes...and washing some of the prep bowls, cutting boards, etc.

YES, of course, Gail could have worn gloves - but George does not, so she toughed it out.  But with such hot water, it is a good idea to wear gloves for long term dishwashing.

In a later episode you will learn an amazing secret for cleaning tea stains with NO effort.  Just wait...
