BOULDER, Colo., – Bhakti, alchemist of the award-winning, freshly-brewed spicy chai and sparkling teas has announced that Sarah Bird has been hired as the company’s new CEO. Brook Eddy, Bhakti’s founder, will remain involved in the vision, innovation, culture, and serve as chairwoman of the board of directors.

"As Bhakti continues to rapidly expand nationwide, it is vital that we hire a seasoned CPG veteran to lead our brand to the next level of growth,” said Brook Eddy, founder of Bhakti. I am thrilled to have found a kindred spirit to join the Bhakti tribe who has deep experience in growing both large and small CPG companies and a shared passion for the natural and organic product industry.”

Prior to joining Bhakti, Sarah was on the executive team at Annie’s Homegrown for 15 years, successfully strengthening and expanding that business. She has deep CPG experience, especially in the natural and organic industry.  She was part of the leadership team, running sales and marketing for Three Twins Ice Cream and Ecologic Brands, and she has also worked for large-scale brands like PowerBar, Nestle Beverage Company, and Frito Lay.  Sarah received her MBA from Dartmouth and currently serves on the Organic Trade Association board.

“I am truly honored to have the opportunity to lead the Bhakti team,” said Bird. “Brook has built a wonderful brand and an incredibly innovative product line, and I am very excited to work with the team to take it to the next level. I am also thrilled to have Brook as a partner in Bhakti's continued journey.”

In her role, Sarah will oversee all aspects of the business including financial management, operations, human resources, sales, marketing, and focus on a strategic plan for the brand’s growth and development.

About Bhakti:

An interest in social action and a passion for travel led Bhakti Founder Brook Eddy to India in 2002 to research a movement based on the principles of Bhakti, or “devotion through social action.” In 2007, Bhakti was born with the vision of fusing sustainably sourced ingredients, artisan craft-brewed products and the values of triple bottom line business. This vision and leadership continue to permeate the company by championing causes through their new Gita Giving platform and blending premium tea beverages into a crusade for a better world.
