TeaSource Makes History and Manufactures Teas in the U.S. – and You Have a Chance to Taste Them!

Tuesday, November 26th 2013 @ 4:26 PM

TeaSource founder and owner, Bill Waddington, has recently hand-processed five types of tea from freshly picked, U.S. grown tea leaves.  This is the first time anything like this has ever been done.

Waddington, working with Donna Fellman of the World Tea Academy, recently conducted an advanced workshop for tea professionals from around the world.  For the workshop, they shipped freshly plucked tea leaves, via Next Day Air from Hawaii (just 2 hours from plant to airport), to a conference room at the World Congress Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia during the World Tea East trade show in October, 2013.

The leaves were packed in dry ice, so for all intents and purposes they arrived in Atlanta fresh.  Over the next three days Waddington and Fellman conducted a hands-on workshop where participants literally hand-processed these fresh tea leaves into black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, green tea, and two styles of white tea.

Nothing like this workshop has ever been attempted anywhere else in the world.  And the most amazing part of this is all the teas ended up tasting pretty darn good.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, residents of the Twin Cities will have a chance to sample these teas at the Eden Prairie TeaSource, 561 Prairie Center Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344, (952) 767-3648 from noon to 2:00 p.m.

Bill Waddington will be there to offer tastes of these teas and answer questions.  This event is free and open to the public, no reservations required.  There are only small amounts of these teas available, enough for folks to get a taste and an idea.  But it is certain that participants will never have tasted tea as fresh or hand-made by a son of Minnesota.
