The World of Tea – Focus on TaiwanFriday, October 1st 2010 @ 8:30 PM
Ocean, NJ - Tea 4 U, LLC introduces a new educational tea publication, now available to tea enthusiasts -- The World of Tea® is dedicated to the inspiration and education of tea lovers world-wide.
Each publication will have a specific focus. The first in the series, “Focus on Taiwan,” is a tribute to Taiwan teas. It takes you on a journey through the beautiful island of Taiwan, "Ilha Formosa," through the mountains where tea is plucked and processed into precious oolong tea to the history, culture and ceremonies by which it is sipped and enjoyed - hot or cold. All 60 pages are dedicated to the inspiration and education of tea enthusiasts all over the world.
Even though Taiwan is a small island (the size of Maryland and Delaware combined, about 75 miles off the coast of Fujian Province in mainland China) 16,000 households are occupied in tea growing, the majority of them private farmers who produce some of the world’s best teas from White Tip oolongs (Oriental Beauty), jade oolongs, and pouchongs, to bubble teas and a variety of bottled ready-to-drink tea. Tea drinking is a significant part of daily life and culture in Taiwan and the country has a rich history of tea.
The articles for the publication are mainly based on the publisher’s experiences from participating in the Taiwan Tea Study Tour in 2009, which was supported by the Taiwan Tea Manufacturers Association and guided by Ambassador of Taiwan Tea, Thomas Shu of ABC Tea, CA and his wife Josephine Pan, Organic Teas Only, CA. The study tour included several days of hands-on tea processing of White Tip oolong, pouchong, and compressed tea.
The World of Tea is published by Kirsten Kristensen of Tea 4 U, LLC, in Ocean, NJ, which is a highly sustainable company, and the publication is available as print on demand through www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/106879 for $18.95 or as a free download for iPad users.
