STI Honors Two More Groups of Level 3 Graduates and Announces Upcoming Charleston Tea Tour and Class Information!

What an exciting year for the Specialty Tea Institute (STI) and STI students! On April 15th a special celebration was held at the Anaheim Convention Center in conjunction with the SCAA show, and on June 15th another celebration at the Hilton Las Vegas in conjunction with the World Tea Expo.   STI recognized the fifth and sixth groups of tea professionals to complete its Level Three Tea Certification Program.   Students who graduated from the program completed a series of foundation and advanced courses requiring a total of 80-100 hours of class and study time.   Each student was awarded the title of Certified Tea Professional (CTP) and received a “diploma” awarded by their instructors.   For a complete list of graduates to date, please visit www.teausa.org.

STI students and members will also have the opportunity to partake in certification classes as well as a visit to the only tea producing plantation in the United States on August 30th-September 01st.  Level 2, Level 3 Pu’erh, Level 4 Cupping and Level 4 Technology of Tea will be offered.  A tour of the R.C. Bigelow Plantation will be held on September 01st.  Classes will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina and are quickly filling up, don’t forget to register by going to www.teausa.org! A special room block has been set up at the hotel, please mention Specialty Tea Institute when making reservations.

Please note the certification classes for the balance of the year:
~August 30th-September 01st Charleston, SC: Levels 2, Level 3 Pu’erh, Level 4 Technology of Tea, and Level 4 Cupping.  September 01st will be a visit to the only tea producing plantation in the United States:  A tour of the R.C. Bigelow Plantation.
~September 30th-October 01st Seattle, WA: Levels 1 & 2 (in conjunction with the Northwest Tea Festival)
~The STI Certification Program was launched on July 08, 2002 and is the most sought after educational program in the tea industry.  It has attracted students from all segments of the tea industry and is even considered necessary training for many executives from major tea packers, operators of tea rooms, executives from supermarket chains and sales brokers because of its professional content and because it is offered by the Tea Association of the USA.  The Tea Association at 111 years old is one of the first trade Associations in the country and the leading voice for the Tea Industry in the USA.

For more information about STI Certification Programs including future courses/offerings and for a list of graduates and their affiliations, visit www.teausa.org or contact Ellainy Karaboitis at ekarabotis@teausa.org or at (212) 986-0250.
