The Twelve Days of Christmas

posted by Tea Course Admin, Group AdministratorWednesday, December 28th 2011 @ 6:15 PM

Is your Christmas to-do list longer than a NASA-countdown? Worried a neighbor may drop by with a surprise gift?  Here’s a quick and easy way to enjoy the season by giving yourself a little breathing room.

Celebrate the Twelve Days of Christmas AFTER Christmas as was intended originally with the old French carol!  Begin with the 26th, giving a small gift to a neighbor, like a Victorian Christmas cracker, for example.  You may continue the gifts to the same or a different neighbor for 12 days until Jan. 6th which is Epiphany, the Wise Men’s visit.  Stop whenever you run out of steam, but tag your gifts so neighbors know what you are doing.   Other gift ideas: a teacup, a card with tea inside, a “re-gift,” (but only one you love!), a “coupon” for a calmer lunch in January.  Knowing they are remembered is what neighbors will enjoy, and they will not feel the need to reciprocate for a gift delivered after Christmas!

More year-round friendship ideas may be found in the 2012 Hospitali-TEA Adventures Calendar by Gail Henderson and Martha DeWeese. Peek online at www.LoveYourNeighborhood.com or call Gail Henderson at 813.928.1166.  First calendar $11, second only $6 more & Free shipping!
