N/D09 - Receiving a Gift Graciously

posted by TeaHouseTimes Admin, ADVERTISER TEA RELATED PRODUCTSThursday, December 10th 2009 @ 6:53 PM

Part of etiquette is accepting a gift with grace.  This is easy if it is a gift you really like.  But what if it is not your favorite…what does etiquette say about how to accept an undesirable gift?

People often feel awkward about receiving a gift that they do not love so much….it is phony to make a big fuss, so how do I stay honest and thank them for the gift?

If you receive a gift that is one you may not have chosen, you may still accept the gift graciously by saying something like, “How very nice of you to remember me this holiday season.”

This is all about thanking them more for the thought and being kind…remember at those times….the saying we have all heard ringing true….it is the thought that counts.
