Gail Gastelu and The Tea House Times Awarded and Recognized for Tea Industry Success and Leadership

Since 2003 The Tea House Times, LLC has been connecting businesses and consumers to all things tea with a purpose and passion for fueling tea industry growth and consumer enjoyment of tea. Twice recognized during the 2016 World Tea Expo (a trade show) held June 15-17 in Las Vegas, Gail Gastelu’s commitment as owner/publisher of the publication and tea industry leader has been recognized and rewarded with The Tea House Times taking home the World Tea Award for Best Tea Publication.  The #DrinkTea Campaign Gastelu created for The Tea Council of the USA and replicated in English and French for The Tea Association of Canada won Best New Product, Open Class.

Gastelu, who created and produced the inaugural, formal occasion of World Tea Awards in 2014, was thrilled to receive recognition. Having been nominated and landing three years in a row in the top five tea publications up for the award, Ms. Gastelu commented to friends and colleagues that she initially helped World Tea Expo to create the awards in order to fuel tea industry growth and the recent redesign of The Tea House Times publication emulates that mission. She further stated, “I need to express my thanks and appreciation to everyone in the tea community (businesses and consumers).  I accept this award for all of you . . . my supporters, contributors, writers, partners, advertisers, subscribers, dear friends and family and tea lovers everywhere. Although I am no longer part of the award process or planning since World Tea Expo changed ownership, I send hearty congratulations to all nominees, finalists, and winners this year for your continued dedication and love for tea.”

Having also accepted an award on behalf of the #DrinkTea Campaign, Gastelu expressed appreciation to everyone in the tea industry and sister industries for embracing and using the campaign graphics through print and social media to further engage and entice people to drink tea in a fun, sociable way. #DrinkTea is a campaign to support the growing interest in tea within the USA and beyond. Peter Goggi, president of the Tea Association of the USA added, “This campaign represents the cornerstone of many Association or Council processes and is advantageous to the betterment of tea industry growth. It contributes building blocks to structure and strengthen consumer interest, tea industry conviviality, and more importantly the support and advocacy of growth for our members.”

Industry colleague, Linda Villano, owner of SerendipiTea had this to say, “Gail Gastelu is tireless in her efforts to bring TEA to the forefront of the American consciousness and in turn to every American's pantry and ultimately into everyone' cup. One of the most vocal promoters of Specialty Tea in the U.S. to date, she has single-handedly launched more programs, promotions and campaigns than any other industry professional. Her work ethic is exemplary, her organizational skills fastidious and her creative thinking is to be greatly admired.”

Having worked with Gail on a number of levels and a number of projects dating back since 2010, David Heilbrunn, producer of Coffee Fest, recommends her work, and commented, "I have to say very few professionals I have encountered or had the pleasure of working with are of the caliber of Gail Gastelu. Her motivation, drive, and follow through is beyond amazing. I am looking forward to continuing on projects together for many years to come."
