The First Annual Victorian Leisure Fair is being held at Erie Canal Village in Rome, NY from July 31 to September 5, 2010 on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm.

Having attended the fair on the very first weekend of its existence we can tell you it was fun, worth the trip and the fair has huge potential for growth.

All day events include Story Telling and Coloring with the Daughters of the American Revolution at the Darwin Farmhouse, Blacksmith Demonstrations at the Blacksmith Shop, Singing with the Irish Washer Women at the Button House.

Performances at the Tavern Stage, Main Stage, Bandstand, and Gypsy Stages include:  Larry, Bailey and the Step Dancing Unicorn, Magical John, Victorian Freak Show, Dance Hall Girls, The Gilbert and Sullivan Review, The Brewer Boys, Peter Pan and Wendy, Arethusa Music, Queen Victoria's Show, A Wilde Mind, C&G Reptiles, Children's Story Time, Sherlock Holmes-a Lecture on Criminal Investigation and Deductive Reasoning, Alice in Wonderland, Belly Dancing and more.

Vendors include such things as Victorian clothing with authentic reproduction fabrics, Victorian wares, jewelry, music, and much more.  Vendor space is still available for Victorian Era products, foods, and activities.
