Celebrities Support National Fundraising Initiative for Mothers and Daughters

posted by TeaHouseTimesAdmin , PRINT ADS and TEA BUREAUTuesday, January 26th 2010 @ 7:31 PM

TEA PARTY ANGELS TAKE FLIGHT!  - New York, NY (January 20, 2010) - Tea Party Angels, a national fundraising initiative for girls’ education around the world, was launched late last year with a tea party, of course, with the support of Honorary Angel Christie Brinkley and her daughter Sailor.

An impressive guest list of mothers and daughters came out to support the launch including rising young actress Emerald-Angel Young and WCBS2 New York anchor Kristine Johnson and her daughter Ava.

Tea Party Angels is one woman's story of how to change the world one tea party at a time. Cheryl Beck, Founder and Chief Executive Angel, had the inspiration for Tea Party Angels after reading the bestselling books Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and Leaving Microsoft to Change the World by John Wood. Both men she found doing extraordinary things to help educate girls around the world. Passionate about their mission that only through education can we achieve peace and prosperity, she too wanted to make a difference.

Beck came up with the simple idea of using tea parties as fundraisers and enlisted support from both men's non-profits, Mortenson's The Central Asia Institute and Wood's Room to Read. In turn, each will be the beneficiary of Tea Party Angels fundraising along with other organizations such as Orphaned Starfish, Miracles in Action and Camfed. Imagine mothers and daughters hosting tea parties across the country to raise money for girls around the world in need of education and at the same time teaching girls here social responsibility.

Emerald-Angel Young has become the cause's biggest cheerleader and is proud to serve as a spokesperson. She explains, “I believe in giving back, that is the only way we Angels can make a difference. So let’s join forces and change the world one day and tea party at a time. Remember no amount is ever too small once it comes from the heart. Angels, lets earn our halos.”

Christie Brinkley, Sailor and Emerald-Angel Young star in the inspirational videos supporting the cause, and both of the young ladies are encouraging their friends to get involved by hosting tea parties.

Tea Party Angels offers a turn-key FUNdraising tea party kit that is available on its Web site. Monies are raised by the girls attending the tea party; each girl invited will be asked by her mother to do some sort of chore that will earn her money to donate at the tea party, giving her a sense of empowerment. During the Tea Party, each girl will have a turn to tell what she did to earn her donation. Tea parties will also include the showing of a brief educational video, and a custom "tea-shirt" making activity. As a thank you gift, girls will receive a beaded bracelet made from girls in Guatemala.  Hosts will decide which nonprofit to support from the list of qualified organizations on the Tea Party Angels Web site, or can simply choose the Tea Party Angels Fund which supports all of the organizations equally.

Tea Party Angels is fiscally sponsored by MADRE, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Two Healthy Trade Events Just Got Healthier

posted by TeaHouseTimesAdmin , PRINT ADS and TEA BUREAUThursday, January 21st 2010 @ 8:48 PM

Las Vegas, NV – In June of 2010, World Tea Expo (www.worldteaexpo.com) and Natural MarketPlace (www.naturalmarketplaceshow.com), both healthy events in terms of their audience growth and the respective industries they serve, will be co-located at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), exponentially increasing the value to the attendees and exhibitors of both trade events.

“We are bringing together two healthy and vibrant shows with growth potential to multiply the benefits to our clients” states Erica Stone, Natural MarketPlace show manager.  “The [World Tea] Expo has been a leading driver of the increased awareness and consumption of specialty and premium tea in North America.  Increasing the exposure of tea to the natural and organic industries will contribute to accelerate the growth of sales in the U.S.” added George Jage, president of World Tea Expo.

World Tea Expo will take place June 11th -13th. The two days prior, June 9th - 10th, tea entrepreneurs can take part in New Business Boot Camp, a targeted, intensive educational program.  Specialty and premium tea are the main focus of products, services and education at World Tea Expo. According to market research firm Packaged Facts, U.S. tea sales are expected to exceed $15 billion by the end of 2012, a nearly $8 billion increase from 2007 levels. Approximately $5 billion of this expansion is expected to be due to a significant shift from traditional mass produced tea to specialty and premium tea. Attending World Tea Expo is the best way for retailers to profit from the industry’s potential.

Natural MarketPlace trade show and conference will be held June 10th -12th, with conference sessions all day on the 10th and the exhibit hall opening at 11:00 am on the 11th and 12th.  Natural MarketPlace is the longest-running natural products industry trade show in the U.S and is produced by New Hope Natural Media in partnership with the Natural Products Association. Nutrition Business Journal estimated that “the U.S. nutrition industry expanded 8.7% in 2008, ringing up total U.S. consumer sales of $101.8 billion.” As a show representing an industry that is growing despite economic challenges, Natural MarketPlace offers a unique product set for businesses looking to capitalize on health-conscious consumers seeking preventive, holistic, and healthy options.

For the co-location, each event will remain independently produced, but exhibitors will benefit by gaining access to thousands of new buyers and attendees will enjoy access to a broader range of products.

New Mystery from Mystery Tea Parties

posted by Maxine Holmgren, PRINT ADS and TEA BUREAUThursday, January 7th 2010 @ 1:22 PM

"Gone With the Breeze" is the newest mystery tea party plan written by Maxine Holmgren.

It was written in response to the many requests for a mystery that took place in a "bygone era" so the ladies could dress up in thier vintage costumes.

"Gone With the Breeze" takes place in the Civil War era.  The plot involves the theft of the money that would have paid off the mortgage on "Kara" plantation.  Now foreclosure threatens.  What will Charlotte O'Mara do to save "Kara."  Perhaps Bret Rutler will save the day?

Laugh filled scripts for eight Southern Belles are included with the plan, along with invitations, name tags and place cards.

Twelve other mystery tea party plans can be found at www.mysteryteaparties.com.  The plans are a fun way to entertain for club programs, events and fund-raisers.
