APRIL SHOWERS TEA

“April Showers bring May Flowers”, or so the saying goes.  An April tea can focus on “showers” without focusing on flowers, by focusing on bath time showers.

Decorating can be lots of fun.  Fill a pretty bowl with various colored shower puffs, and let each guest take one home with them as a favor.

Tableware can be inserted inside a bath mitt or bath glove, and tied with a pretty bow.

Instead of napkins, purchase some inexpensive washcloths or guest towels and use them in place of napkins.

Guests can take home their shower puffs, bath mitt and washcloth.  A gift bag of travel size toiletries make great additional favors or door prizes.

Look for fresh spring vegetables and fruits and incorporate them into your menu whenever possible.   Apricots, cherries, and strawberries are just a few of tasty fruits ready for the picking in Spring.  Asparagus, peas, mint, and radishes  are also plentiful, and perfect for sandwiches, quiches, etc.

Enjoy a Spring tea, even if there are showers outside!
