Special Report, July, 2006 Coffee & Tea Festival The First Annual Coffee & Tea Festival in New York City was held in July, 2006. The show is put on by Starfish Junction Productions. Details about this show and future shows can be found at www.everything4coffeeandtea.com
This show drew people interested in coffee and/or tea. It was good for those couples who are split in their preferences. So, while some of the ladies visited our booth to see The Tea House Times and all our great tea party supplies, their dis-interested spouses, moved on to the coffee displays. Well, there was something there to make everyone happy. It was interesting to note that NOBODY knew what a scone was and were really bewildered by clotted cream, etc., but they really enjoyed it. Some people who had visited tea rooms before were familiar with afternoon tea and the foods served. This was definitely more of a consumer show and served to educate the public about tea and coffee. Several businesses offered tastings while displaying their goods for sale.
This does not cover all the companies exhibiting, but a good sampling of companies we have not heard of before and/or those who have introduced some new products. Some highlights:
