The Tea House Times is dedicated to helping busy tea room owners find new products.  This time we visited the Chocolate Show in New York City on November 11, 2005.  We found a few businesses selling chocolate infused with tea!  The most delicious were the earl grey flavored chocolates.  Others flavored with green tea were good, but much lighter as far as tasting the tea.

This show was open to the trade only on the first day, and then following days open to the public as well.  An exhibit displayed the process of making chocolate and it was a real learning experience.  Making chocolate is very labor intense, not unlike tea!  There were also children's activities (for young children), and there was also a mini exhibit on the history of chocolate; very interesting.  We tasted everything from chocolate flavored teas to dessert wines to brownies, truffles, chocolates of every variety size and shape, hot chocolate and more.   There was even an artist with chocolate oil paintings!  Yes, you could eat them apparently (if you could afford to!).

Here are some highlights of the show.  For more information, visit www.chocolateshow.com
