CELESTIAL SEASONINGS® AND AMERICA'S TOP FEMALE CHEFS DEBUT TEA COOKBOOK TO RAISE AWARENESS OF HEART DISEASE

Celestial Seasonings Makes Donation to WomenHeart in Honor of Chefs' Participation

BOULDER, Colo. - Celestial Seasonings, North America's specialty tea leader, in collaboration with 10 of America's top female chefs introduces "From Teapot to Table Top," a cookbook developed to help raise awareness of the risk of heart disease. Today, one in three women dies of heart disease, making it the #1 killer of women in the United States. It affects more women than the next seven leading causes of death combined, including breast cancer.

"Most women are unaware of their risk of heart disease. Making small changes like adding heart-healthy foods and beverages to the diet and reducing stress can dramatically improve heart heath," said Cardiologist Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum of Beth Israel Medical Center.

For thousands of years, tea has been enjoyed for its numerous health properties and its stress-reducing effects. Today, research shows that drinking just two cups of black tea daily provides as many heart-healthy antioxidants as one serving of fruit or vegetables and may reduce LDL, or "bad" cholesterol, a major risk factor for heart disease.

"From Teapot to Table Top" makes incorporating tea in the diet simple with a wide selection of delicious Celestial Seasonings tea-based recipes like Fresh Asian Shrimp Rolls, Moroccan Spiced Apricot Chicken, Lemon Zinger® Gingerbread and Red Dress Vanilla Rose Pound Cake.

"Cooking is my escape from an otherwise busy lifestyle," explained Emily Luchetti, Executive Pastry Chef, Farallon Restaurant and "From Teapot to Table Top" contributor. "I'm proud to help raise awareness of heart disease among women."

Celestial Seasonings demonstrates a long-standing commitment to heart health with the introduction of two new tea flavors, Vanilla Rose Decaf and Black Cherry Pomegranate Black Teas, developed specifically to support women and heart disease. The new teas feature the Red Dress icon, the nationally recognized symbol to raise awareness for the cause, and both teas are made with all-natural ingredients, including heart-healthy black tea.

Celestial Seasonings has pledged a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these new teas to WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, and will donate up to $100,000 ($1.00 for each Red Dress pin ordered) through a promotion printed on 17 million tea boxes. Celestial Seasonings will also offer a donation in honor of each respected female chef profiled in "From Teapot to Table Top."

Consumers can request a copy (while supplies last) of "From Teapot to Table Top" by calling 1-866-211-0374 (toll-free).
